Avery turns two

Avery's birthday is here, and I already had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to get her for her birthday present.  I decided she's almost old enough to ride a trike, but if the trike has a handle for mom to push it like a stroller, she's the perfect age!

Steve and I found it at Toys R Us, and brought it over for Avery to see. She was asleep when we got there, but Jessica was up, and she and I assembled the bike before Avery woke up.  She was so sweet, you could tell she just woke up, and was really kind of in a mellow mood, but she jumped right on the bike. She even said "tricycle" several times. Jessica kept telling me she was saying "there you go!" but she eventually saw that Avery did, in fact, know how to say tricycle.

Jessica and I ended up taking Avery to a park that was a few blocks away. She really liked it. There was a place on her trike that she could just rest her feet, or she could try and pedal as well.

When we got to the park, there was a little play house that was just Avery's size, she really thought it was neat. She spent a lot of time in there, but the day was extremely hot, and we didn't end up staying very long.

Grandpa and Grandma always have to get our Avery pictures when we come to visit. She sure is growing up. I can't believe she has been in our family for 2 years! We found a new place in our heart to fill up with love for our grand babies. There's nothing better than being a grandma and grandpa!

Happy Birthday Avery-bug! We sure do love you!!!
