Interesting Week

I have a patient who is truly the most unique child I have ever met. She likes things that most people find a bit disturbing. I have had a lot of hard nights taking care of her. I spent the night caring for her on a Thursday, and while I was there, noticed the family had given her a new doll. This actually matches her personality perfectly. I was supposed to watch her again on Sunday, but was called off. On Monday I found out this patient had passed away. I can't take pictures of my patients, or really tell much about them or the illness that they have, but actually feel really blessed that I took this picture on my last night with this little girl. You learn to love those whom you serve. I will miss this patient, it was always a wild ride, but she definitely left a mark on my heart.

I'm still working hard at Cross fit. These are not flattering pictures, but they are proof that I was there and working hard. I'm the one squatting in the back. Did not realize they were taking this picture... Anyway, I actually had what I like to call a personal triumph this week. The wooden boxes in the picture are two feet tall. We have to jump on the box and then jump back down. I've only been going for two weeks, and the first time I went, I just stepped up on the box each time. We've had other days with the boxes, and I try to jump at least half of the reps, but if I get too tired and don't jump high enough, I'm going to look like an idiot, and bang up my shins pretty bad. Anyway, on Friday we had to jump the boxes again, and I'm happy to say I jump 97 times!! If I had really thought about it, I would have jumped 3 more just to make it an even one hundred. But I'm so happy!!! That's at least twice as many as I've been able to do up to this point!

I also got to spend time with my daughter, Jessica, and my grand daughter Avery this week. It was so nice. Avery smiled for a couple of pictures, then she decided to go take an extra long nap while Jessica did my hair.

She gave me some lovely highlights and then curled it all over, made me feel so pretty. I had such a nice time!!

Steve was actually in Wyoming on a fishing trip. He ended up catching a 32 pound lake trout at Flaming Gorge. I will post pictures as soon as I get them. He had a pretty good time too!.
