A day on horseback

I think Steve had an amazing day with his girls. Jessica, Kaylea, Steve, and Uncle Allen went on a horseback ride up in the mountains. They went to the pond right below Deseret Peak. They were gone for about 5 hours, they all came home walking funny, but really enjoyed the day.
Steve has always wanted someone in the family to ride horses with him. That kind of went out the door when I got bucked off the horse a few years ago. When Steve asked if either of them would like to go on a ride the day after Independence Day, he was pleasantly surprised when both girls said yes.

Steve rode Love, Jessica rode Dakota, and Kaylea rode one of Uncle Allen's horses. They packed a lunch, and when they got to the pond, they all soaked their feet in the cold water, and ate their lunch. The girls each rode their horse through the pond.

They tried to make snow angels in what little snow there still was. It took 2 hours to get to the pond, and about 45 minutes to get back. Dakota was being just a little bit difficult on the way back, so Jessica traded Uncle Allen horses.

I just thought these were such pretty pictures. Jessica said that each time she comes into town, she wants to go on a ride with her dad.
