Women's Conference 2009

I was invited to attend Women's Conference at BYU by a good friend and neighbor of mine, Shanna. I decided it would be a nice break from the busy, craziness that is my life. Steve and I usually go to BYU Idaho Education week with Shanna and her husband, Troy.

I really had a nice day. We went to a portion of the devotional in the morning, it took us a little bit longer to get registered than we thought it would. Then we went to three classes, and learned about sacrifice, being a true disciple of Christ, and other topics. It's just nice sometimes to relax and enjoy the spirit of the Gospel. I know of several other friends and relatives that went to Women's Conference, but only saw one person I knew. Of course they say there are 15-20,000 women who attend, it would be difficult to find anyone in that crowd.

During the conference the women are given many opportunities to serve. The speakers were joking about seeing all the crochet needles working away while they were speaking. They were making scarves, and kitchen towel hangers. I had itchy fingers, and would have loved to start on a crochet service project, but because I was only at the conference one day, I wouldn't have been able to finish.

We were surprised with how many women came from all over the country, and actually all over the world. It was a great feeling to be around so many good women.Shanna was a sweetheart for inviting me, and putting up with me all day. Thanks a lot, I had a great time!!
