Day Four: Coburg

Coburg is the town that Steve is serving in right now.  Steve talked about what a beautiful place it is with a castle on the hill and we decided we'd like to go see it. Steve asked us not to contact him while he is in Germany, but we did want to leave him a gift. We had a grocery bag that we put a few things in. We were just going to leave it on his doorstep, but that was impossible.
This is the entrance into Steve's apartment. Steve lives in a part of town where no cars are allowed, only walking. We thought we would just park out of the way, but we had to walk there. There is just a door with about 6 doorbells. One says missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We knew the only way to get a package to him was to ring the doorbell. We had promised not to contact him so we asked my sister Tera, who lives in his mission to try and give it to him while we all walked away.

We walked around to where we couldn't see the door, and waited for Tera. Conner said, "There he is!" I turned around to see him looking out the window, down at Tera. He never looked in our direction, and only Conner and I saw him, but it was so neat. He looks so good! I don't think he realized we were right there, but he did write us a letter on his next p-day thanking us for the package.
Steve's right, Coburg is beautiful. When I look around, the only thing I can compare it to is Disneyland. I guess Walt Disney did a good job of making his park look like Europe!

After a stroll through town, and  around a park next to what looked like a church, we drove up to the castle. The castle has been made into a museum. It is where Martin Luther translated some of the bible. We were able to go inside and see such fun things.

There was an outdoor restaurant there at the castle, we stopped for hot dogs. It was a beautiful day. And so fun to see where Steve is spending his days.

Have you ever had steak on a stone? Tera and Erick took us to a fun restaurant where you cook your own steak. It comes on a slab of hot granite with different sauces and you literally cut off portions and cook them before you eat them. It was such a fun dinner, and I enjoyed spending time with family.
Kaylea and Conner enjoyed spending time with their cousins as well.
